The Stars are coming off a 3-2-0 road trip, but saw a victory slip away on Sunday in what ended up being a 3-2 setback to the Florida Panthers. Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin scored in the games first 21 minutes, but the Panthers netted three unanswered goals to deal the Stars a loss. Kari Lehtonen came up with 21 saves in defeat. "Tough points to lose. It wasnt a good game for us," said Seguin, who has scored a goal in four straight and has 36 on the season. The Predators, meanwhile, are just about eliminated from the playoff race despite picking up a pair of victories over playoff-bound teams this weekend. Nashville is 6-1-1 in its last eight games, but is six points back of Dallas with four games to go. The Preds bested the Anaheim Ducks on Friday, then followed up the following day with a 3-0 win over the San Jose Sharks. Carter Hutton made 35 saves in his first career shutout and was backed by three second-period goals. Patric Hornqvist scored twice and assisted on Roman Josis goal. "Every night is a big night for us," said Hornqvist. "As long as we have a chance, obviously our goal to make the playoffs is tough but as long as we have a chance it is something to work hard for." The Predators and Stars have split four meetings this season, with each club winning twice at home, but Nashville still has won six of the last nine encounters overall. Despite Huttons shutout, Pekka Rinne could still draw the start tonight for the Predators and he is 7-5-0 with a 2.84 goals against average lifetime versus the Stars. Lehtonen is 7-7-0 with a 2.36 GAA versus the Predators, while backup Tim Thomas is 4-0-0 with a 2.40 GAA lifetime against them. "Were right there with them," he told reporters on Friday. "Now its time, sorry about the words, to put our balls on the table." The Wild went home from Denver down two games in their series against the Avalanche and - following solid starts from goaltender Darcy Kuemper - theyre leaving St. Paul with the series even at 2-2. Charlie Coyle and Jared Spurgeon each scored once while Kuemper held the fort to send the Wild to a 2-1 victory over the Avs in Game 4 on Thursday. The Avalanche struggled offensively during their two games in Minnesota, scoring just one goal and firing just 12 shots on Kuemper in Game 4. Colorado has been outshot 78-34 in the lasst two games, with Ryan OReilly getting the lone goal.dddddddddddd "Im not happy about that," Roy added. "Lets not kid ourselves. We know we can do better and we will. Theres always adjustments...one other thing, their goalie did a good job not giving too many rebounds. Plus, we missed the net too many times. Sometimes in the playoffs, you need to put the puck on the net with the purpose of getting a rebound." The Avalanche went 0-for-8 on the power play over the last two games and is 1-for-15 in the series, but Roy warned that such challenges are natural for a young team that isnt even a Stanley Cup contender. "We need to be patient with our group," he explained. "This is a young team. This is a team that, lets not forget, finished 29th last year. These are huge steps and this is a learning process." The series returns to Denver for Game 5 on Saturday. ' ' '
