Gamble spent the past two seasons as the vice president of player personnel for the Philadelphia Eagles. The two sides decided to part ways on Dec. 31. His previous tenure with the 49ers began in 2005 and spanned eight seasons, including his last two as the director of player personnel (2011-12). Tom is one of the most experienced, knowledgeable, and respected personnel men in the business, said 49ers general manager Trent Baalke.
